Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
4:20 Ascot – BOW ECHO (NAP)
One of the stories of the flat season so far after romping away with the 2000 Guineas (watch below) – a win that made him 4-4 and still unbeaten.
He takes on the runner-up Gstaad again, who landed the Coventry Stakes at this meeting last season, but there was 2 3/4 lengths between them that day.
Gstaad has since won the Irish Guineas to bolster the form but the worry for his backers is that Bow Echo could easily improve again with that last win his first run since September.
Bow Echo looks one of the Royal Ascot bankers of the meeting and hopefully he can take another step towards superstar status – if not already there.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:05 Stratford – LOUIS VERON
Off to Stratford for the next Lucky 15 horse racing tip as the Dan Skelton yard continue in fine form – coming into today with a 55% SR.
They are taken to enhance that again here with Louis Veron, who was a good winner at Warwick last time – albeit at 2/9.
Has a penalty to carry for that win so this will require more but that was only his third career run so you feel this could be another Skelton horse that runs up a summer jumping sequence.
3:50 Stratford – EDELAK
Just the three runners here and really they’ve certainly all got squeaks.
But this is another Skelton runner that won last time out (Huntingdon) very well and is into a handicap on a mark of 111 for the first time.
Is rated only 3lbs lower than the Snowden horse Machete Beach but also gets 8lbs, so on the revised terms has 5lbs in-hand if things go to plan.

5:00 Ascot – REACHING HIGH (NB)
Ryan Moore made a real mess of this race last season on this horse – getting in all sorts of traffic issues and in the end running out of time (9th).
But it’s interesting that Willie Mullins has kept this Royal runner away from the track since – maybe to protect his handicap mark of just 94.
You feel Moore won’t make the same mistakes again and with a bit more luck in-running I’ll take Reaching High to make amends here and give the King his second Royal Ascot success.
While maybe a small saver on another Mullins runner Bunting, despite this horse being hard to win with – it’s interesting connections have booked Harry Vigors to take off a handy 7lbs.
