Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
3:53 Yarmouth – HENGEST (NAP)
Heads here on a three-timer after handicap wins at Windsor and Lingfield last time.
Up just 4lbs for the last of those and with this slight drop back in trip also expected to suit (won over this distance at Windsor in May), he’s taken to land the hat-trick.
With Dylan Cunha telling us on the FTS site this morning
“Hengest is two for two since going into handicaps and is very much on the upgrade. He won over a little further last time, but won nicely over this trip at Windsor before that so the hat-trick is very much on the cards.” Dylan Cunha
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
3:23 Yarmouth – AL HUDAIBA
The Charlie Appleby yard have a good record in this race – winning the prize three times in the last six.
And I think they can add to those stats here with this Dark Angel colt, who impressed on debut at HQ.
Yes, carries a penalty for that win but that experience over some fair-looking newcomers can win the day.
3:30 Worcester – KINGS SCHOLAR
Got off the mark at the second try over hurdles with ease at Southwell last time and will be a warm order to add to that here.
Sean Bowen, who rode the last day keeps the ride and despite having to give weight away all round should have too much for this lot.
Kings Scholar can be crowned again in a race that lacks any depth.
6:12 Sandown – SWEET WILLIAM (NB)
A decent card at Sandown tonight for their Brigadier Gerard Stakes evening and one of the stars on show (along with Ombudsman) Sweet William.
This likeable staying cup horse has won over £1m in prize money and added to that haul by winning the Sagaro Stakes earlier this month at Ascot.
He’s also won this race before (2024) and in a race that doesn’t look the strongest, looks the clear one to beat.
Plus the Gosden’s has also won the last two – with Trawerman winning in 2025.
Yes, he never often wins flashy, but is a gutsy 7yold and on what will be his 23rd career run today, many will be ‘sweet’ on William to grab win number eight.
