Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
5:15 York – PORTCULLIS (NAP)
It was hard to not be impressed with the way this Gosden/Royal bounded to victory at HQ in the Wood Ditton last time.
He ended up winning by 5 1/2 lengths at the line and that earned him quotes of 20/1 for the St James’s Palace Stakes next month.
Of course, he’ll need to win this to be taken seriously in a race like that, but this is a contest the yard love to target.
Winning the last three runnings – which adds further confidence, despite the Haggas runner, Weheedd looking a fair sort.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
3:42 Newmarket – CRAZEE ICON
Still winless from seven starts but has been knocking on the door – including a close second at Windsor last time out.
Oisin Murphy is back on today – rode her two runs back onboard.
And I also feel the hood on today for the first time will help her focus and settle better – having taken a bit of a hold the last day.
4:25 Newbury – POINT OF LAW
I was impressed with the debut 2nd from this Gosden runner at Yarmouth last month.
That came over today’s 1m2f trip and it goes without saying that experience will bring him on.
The third that day – Sintra – has also won since to bolster the form and so everything ‘Points’ to the ‘Law’ here.
4:53 Newmarket – WE’RE GOOSERS (NB)
Another good chance on the day for jockey Oisin Murphy – who rides this Hugo Palmer colt for the first time.
Was a good winner over 7f two starts back but seemed to just not quite last out the mile next time (6th).
Beaten only 1 1/2 lengths the last day too, but the return to 7f looks the keep and so We’re Goosers should be waddling home again.
