York ITV Horse Racing Tips On Friday – Beckett To ‘Unlock’ Yorkshire Cup Puzzle

York Races
2:20 – York: Sky Bet Fillies’ Stakes (Registered As The Michael Seely Memorial Fillies’ Stakes) (Listed Race) Cl1 (3yo) 1m ITV
Some promising sorts on show here, including the Ed Walker runner SYNCHRONICITY, who caught the eye when winning on debut at Newbury.
Especially as the 2nd (Song Of The Clouds), 4th (Bright Summer) and 5th (Seet) have all won since.
Meaning that form looks rock solid and with the expected improvement there will only be more to come.
Oh and the Ed Walker team won this in 2021.
Pacific Mission is the top-rated in the field and commands respect too, while I was also impressed with the two Gosden runners – So Regal and Fashion People – last time, with the former also holding a Coronation Stakes entry.
But I’ll take the planets to align again for the promising Synchronicity, who could also head to Royal Ascot after this.
🥇SYNCHRONICITY
🥈So Regal
🥉Fashion People

2:55 – York: Support Macmillan Charity Raceday On 13 June Handicap (GBBPlus Race) Cl2 (4yo+ 0-100) 1m2½f ITV
The King’s horse Warrant Holder commands respect after winning well at Newcastle on the AW last October and has been gelded over the winter.
But 19 of the last 23 winners of this race didn’t win last time out – so I’ll take a chance on this being fought out by last year’s first (Thunder Run) and second (Tony Montana).
Both return on exactly the same marks too and there was only a head between them 12 months ago.
However, since winning this, Thunder Run has been a bit disappointing – including finishing last in two of his last three starts.
In contrast, TONY MONTANA returned last time with a close 6th to a horse I like Linwood at Newbury last month – on what was his first start for the Philippart De Foy team (formerly with Michael Bell).
I think he’ll come on for that last run after six months off and the lower draw looks a plus too.
We’ve also got last year’s third – Have Secret – back for more, but is up 5lbs.
But Tony Montana is the call to leave a ‘scar’ on the ‘face’ of the others.
🥇TONY MONTANA
🥈Thunder Run
🥉Warrant Holder

3:30 – York: Design Tonic Out Of This World Spaces At The Races EBF Marygate Fillies’ Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (2yo) 5f ITV
Again, many chances here for this 2yold race and also several unknowns with a lot of these sure to improve from their last races.
Jockey bookings suggest of the two Amo Racing runners – the David Egan-ridden Lover Girl is their main hope.
But their other runner Lady Blanche, who won well at Bath last time, certainly can’t be discounted coming from the Karl Burke yard that have won 2 of the last 4 runnings.
Princesse d’Orange won easily on debut at Beverley and the third has won since.
While Niewiadoma won at Thirsk last time and that form has been franked too, with the runner-up (Lake Muritz) going in next time.
But the Burke team, who, don’t forget, have a good record in this race, also run LOVE A GIGGLE and with Clifford Lee riding might be over-priced.
Yes, she probably beat little on debut at Southwell the last day (only 3 rivals), but the fact connections are pitching her in here is interesting and she’s sure to have improved further with a month between races.
Love a Giggle could have the last laugh.
🥇LOVE A GIGGLE
🥈Lady Blanche
🥉Princesse d’ Orange

4:05 – York: Boodles Yorkshire Cup Stakes (Group 2) Cl1 (4yo+) 1m6f ITV
Trainer Ralph Beckett has never won the Yorkshire Cup, but is taken to put that right here with AMILOC.
This 4yold was last seen running a close 4th in the Breeders’ Cup Turf – beaten only 2 1/2 lengths.
Before that was second in the Irish St Leger and won the G2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot – form that will make him a big player here.
He’s been freshened up since with 195 days off but so far in his short career has shown he’s a horse that goes well fresh too.
Rossa Ryan rides on what will be his first run here at York.
Of the rest, Rahiebb, Further, Al Nayyir are noted too – as is last year’s close second Epic Poet, who can give the pick most to think about.
🥇AMILOC
🥈Epic Poet
🥉Rahiebb

4:40 – York: Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Handicap Cl3 (3yo 0-90) 5f ITV
A very tough race to end the live ITV Racing action with – but if the stats are anything to go on, then maybe it’s best to look for those drawn between 7-10.
This is backed up with 7 of the last 11 winners coming between these gates, so Naana’s Shadow, Eternal Solace, Fortification and Shes Got A Brother are the ones to note.
Of that quartet, I’ll take a punt on the two bigger-priced runners – ETERNAL SOLANCE and FORTIFICATION.
As the other two won last time out and 9 of the last 11 came here NOT winning their last outing.
Eternal Solance, who is drawn 8, will also have William Buick in the saddle and with only three runs on the grass (1 win) is one of the least exposed on the turf.
Fortification is drawn next door in 9 and is having his debut for trainer Brian Ellison, after coming from the Archie Watson team.
He gets in here with just 8-13 and is another that should have more to come on the green stuff with only two runs.
While of the rest, those expected to be at the head of the market are Desert Treasure and Schrodinger’s Cat.
🥇ETERNAL SOLANCE (e/w)
🥈FORTIFICATION
🥉DESERT TREASURE
