Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip 

1:58 Perth LEXINGTON WOOD (NAP)

Former Philip Fenton runner that has some useful form in Ireland – notably running Ballyfad to 1/2 a-length at Down Royal back in November in a NH Flat race.

Switched to the Olly Murphy camp and highly-tried on hurdles debut at Kempton in the Dovecote in February.

Jumped a bit sketchy that day, but with 82 days off connections are sure to have done plenty of work with him since.

Better ground will suit and this race looks much easier.

With the Murphy yard also boasting 33% SR with their hurdlers here at Perth, then Lexington Wood looks a ‘solid’ option in their opener…….on what could be a good day for Sean Bowen and Olly Murphy,

3:30 York SEE THE FIRE (NB)

Bolted up in this race last season – winning by 12 lengths and will be a warm order to repeat the feat.

This Andrew Balding mare returned last month with a win at Nottingham too and despite only just hanging on, will surely improve for that.

Oisin Murphy, who rode her to take this 12 months ago, is back in the plate and she gets a handy 3lbs off the joint top-rated Fallen Angel.

See The Fire is taken to be too hot again.

3:53 Salisbury WAREETH

The Archie Watson team are 0-22 with their 3yolds here at Salisbury, which is a small worry.

Oh, and the William Haggas team took this race last year have a fair-looking newcomer in Ancestor.

But the pick is still the one with the form in the book after bolting up in debut at Newcastle in March.

He’s since run the promising Morshdi to 6 3/4 lengths in a Listed race at HQ and having stayed on well that day over 1m1f I think he can improve again for this longer trip.

Hollie Doyle, who has ridden him in both races, keeps the ride.

5:20 Clonmel SPRINGHILL WARRIOR

In a race that lacks depth, this Gordon Elliott runner will be all the rage to win the second race on the card at Clonmel today.

This final Lucky 15 horse racing tip today was last seen running second at Fairyhouse in February and before that race was also runner-up to the useful I Started A Joke at Punchestown.

That’s the best form on show here and with the better ground and longer trip looking plusses, Warrior should really be outbattling this lot.
