Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
3:15 Lingfield BACK IN BLACK (NAP)
Has been a tad frustrating since winning at Newbury back in April 2025.
But has run some very good races in defeat and returned last time to be a close 4th in a hot handicap at Newbury.
The winner that day – Linwood – I think is smart and likely to be better than a handicapper in time.
While the 3rd Whip Cracker ran well at Chester last week (2nd) to advertise the form further.
This is also an ease in class for this James Fanshawe runner and with the yard having a 40% SR with their 4+yolds at Lingers, this is a further plus.
Back In Black is the call to get back in the winners’ enclosure.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
1:33 Naas CARRY THE FLAG
After a nice debut effort to be second at the Curragh last month over 5f.
Showed plenty of pace that day and with the expected improvement from that experience, then this No Nay Never colt should really be getting off the mark.
Carry The Flag can fly home in the race Aidan O’Brien has also won three times since 2021.
2:08 Nottingham LIGHTNING THUNDER
A promising silver last time at Newbury and that looks the best form on show here.
Backed up with the third Decade Of Time winning since to frank that run.
And the Gosden camp remain in top form – heading into today with a 32% SR in the last 14 days.
Lightning Thunder should be ‘storming’ home here.
2:30 Haydock BARBURY BOY
This Alan King runner stayed on well at Beverley the last day to win for the first time and upped in trip is taken to follow-up.
Up 9lbs for that win makes life harder, but that rise in the handicap can be nullified with the longer distance expected to improve this 3yold further.
While that form has also been boosted since with the second Alice De Clare winning next time.
Barbury can be the ‘boy’ again.
