Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Wednesday 5th August, 2026)
3:15 Pontefract ROCK STEADY BEAT (NAP)
This Karl Burke 2yold has been a bit frustrating – with three runs without a win so far.
But he’s still run some fair races in defeat and has seen been gelded, which is expected to improve him.
The form of his 2nd at Carlisle two runs ago has been boosted with the 2nd winning since.
While last time he ran 3rd to Quillan at Redcar and that horse has since won again.
The final plus is Burke and Clifford Lee seem to like this race – wining the last two runnings.
I’ll take Rock Steady Beat to hit the right notes today.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Wednesday 5th August, 2026)
3:45 Pontefract GARDEN OASIS
Now aged 11 but is still loving his racing after a good 2nd at Ripon last time out.
Gets in off the same mark here and seems to be taking on five others with a bit to prove at the moment.
Yes, the Tim Easterby yard form is a small niggle (3-81), but the other positive is this veteran likes this race.
He won it 12 months ago and is back rated 8lbs lower.
Garden Oasis is the call to bloom again.
4:00 Brighton BUCKLAND BELLE
This Ollie Sangster 3yold stayed on well over a mile at Leicester last time to win to suggest she’s worth a crack over today’s longer 1m2f trip.
She’s up 6lbs for that success too, but that seems fair and Eddie Greatrex is back in the plate and heads into the race 1-1 on her.
Buckland Belle will need to prove she can stay this far, but looks the sort to do just that.
“Buckland Belle ran her best race yet when winning nicely over a mile at Leicester last time. She should enjoy stepping up to 1m2f and looks the one to beat here. Big chance.” Ollie Sangster FromTheStables
7:10 Yarmouth LIBERATE (NB)
Has only had two career runs, but both have been solid efforts.
The last was a close third at Ffos Las at the end of June – staying on well to only be beaten 3/4 of a length.
He also lost a shoe in that race so it can be upgraded a tad too.
A 36 day break would have freshened her up, while the second in her last race – Dialstone – also runs today (7:20 Kempton).
I will be a shock if Libertate isn’t ‘breaking free’ here.
