Normal service was restored for Andre Fabre and Pierre-Charles Boudot at Deauville, where KALIMAAT ran out a ready winner of the 14:31 Prix Club Hipico Santiago (Prix de Falaise) – quick compensation for the pair after their odds-on Zen Poetry was mugged in the opener half an hour earlier.
| Pos | Horse | Jockey | SP (PMU) |

| 1 | Kalimaat | Pierre-Charles Boudot | 9/4 |
| 2 | Divina Fe | Alexis Pouchin | 3/1 |

The Race Story
Twelve juvenile fillies lined up for the second leg of Deauville’s South American-themed supporting card, over the same straight 1,400 metres as the opener, and this time the punters got paid. Kalimaat, sent off at around 9/4 on the PMU, settled the argument decisively – Boudot committed inside the final quarter and the Fabre filly stretched two and a half lengths clear at the line, stopping the clock in 1m 26.0s, half a second quicker than the colts managed in the first.
Behind her, the Botti stable’s Divina Fe ran a solid race in second under Alexis Pouchin, a length ahead of Mikel Delzangles’ Impa (around 13/2), with the Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Erala (12/1) a length and a half further back in fourth. No hard-luck stories, no photograph required – the winner was simply the best filly in the race on the day.
For bet-settlers, the maths were friendly for once: favourite backers collected, and the forecast with the second-choice Divina Fe won’t have broken any bookmakers.
Tipster Accountability
Nothing staked, nothing lost. Our morning Deauville preview filed this one under “enjoy with the coffee” rather than a betting opportunity, and none of the ten tracked tipsters in the bankroll ledger plays the French supporting races. The ledger’s day will be decided on the British and Irish cards – and by whatever unfolds in the Gheest.
Looking Ahead
The Group action is upon us. The 16:05 CEST Prix Daphnis (Group 3) brings twelve three-year-old milers to post, with Charlie Appleby’s British raider Distant Storm heading the cross-Channel interest, before the day peaks with the Group 1 Arc Prix Maurice de Gheest at 16:40 CEST – True Love, Division and Wise Approach carrying the British and Irish challenge against the home team. And if the first two races are any guide, the opening-race upset by The Highlight is a reminder that short prices are no insurance policy by the Normandy seaside – even when, as here, the market eventually gets one right.
