Free Each Way Horse Racing Tips Today: Wednesday 5th August, 2026

3:30 Brighton: SILCA BAY

Trainer Eve Johnson Houghton and jockey Oliver Carmichael have teamed up to win this race for the last two seasons and are back again.

This time they go with recent Newmarket winner Silca Bay, who is up 4lbs for that HQ win.

But the first two that day pulled 2 3/4 lengths clear of the rest to suggest the rise is fair and Carmichael can again take off his handy 7lbs.

It will be his first trip to Brighton but despite hanging a bit left last time – that won’t be too bad here if it happens again.

Draw 5 looks okay too and the yard also boast a solid 30% SR with their 4+yolds here at the seaside track.

4:15 Pontefract: BETWEENTHESTICKS

This Ruth Carr-trained 6yold is back to defend his title in this race – having scrambled home by a short-head the last day.

He’s back rated 2lbs higher but has won off today’s 68 mark here at Ponty earlier this season.

Two recent good runs at the track suggest he heads here in form and is down a pound from those efforts too.

He also won from gate 6 last year and has a similar draw in 5 today. Plus regular pilot James Sullivan gets the leg up.

I’ll side with Betweeenthesticks to hit the back of the net again in this race.

6:00 Sligo: CORNELIENNE

Thatwilldoso, Alice Monet and Chica Guerrera are respected here.

But a chance is taken on the Joseph O’Brien and JP McManus runner – Cornelienne.

This 5yold was last seen over the jumps 203 days ago – but that was a 2nd (12l) to Bambino Fever at Fairyhouse.

She’s back on the level today but has a decent record on the flat (turf), with 2 wins from 7 runs and six top three finishes.

Dylan Browne McMonagle gets the ride for the first time and history tells us gate 6 is a plus too.

Backed up with 6 of the last 7 winners of this race hailing between 5-7.
