Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Tuesday 4th August, 2026)
4:15 Catterick HALIMEDE
This race looks a bit of a two-horse shootout between the pick and Hansteen, with the Prescott horse getting the nod.
Yes, Hansteen looks more than capable of winning a race like this, but the niggle for me is that he was beaten at 8/15 the last day.
While his only win came in a Classified Stakes races – he’s now 0-2 in handicaps.
The selection is less exposed and looks another possible Prescott improver now stepping up in trip and going handicapping.
He’s in here of a mark of 59, which looks fair and the yard (32% in the last 14 days) do okay here at Catterick with an overall 29% return.
Hansteen was also beaten by another Prescott horse at Southwell last time, connections of the pick should know a bit where they stand.

Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Tuesday 4th August, 2026)
2:45 Catterick ICONIC TIMES
This is a super poor race – so that probably means anything could win it if putting their mind to it.
However, the safest call looks to be the only recent winner in the field – Iconic Times.
This Jennie Candlish runner won a Wolves handicap last time and is back out just 5 days later.
Yes, the swich the to turf requires more as he’s 0-6 on the AW but is still the most likely winner in probably one of the worse races on the day.
5:18 Lingfield MISTER MOJITO
This T J Kent runner simply loves it here at Lingfield – he’s 3-3 at the Surrey venue.
The last of those wins came back in April 2025, so it’s a bit strange he’s not been back since.
However, he’s returning today on a mark of 69 and that last Lingers success was off 70 – meaning he’s a pound better off.
Jack Callan is also a top jockey booking for this apprentice race.
So Mister Mojito is taken to continue his love affair with Lingfield and land the drinks money today.
5:48 Lingfield LONGSDALE LASS
Ran a blinder to be second to a hot-pot in the betting on the turf here at Lingers on debut.
Switches to the AW today but there are no obvious reasons why this won’t suit.
Is also up to 7f today (from 6f) but after staying on well that day, then the extra yardage is sure to suit.
