Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Sunday 2nd August, 2026)
3:40 Deauville BLUE BOLT
This exciting Andrew Balding filly took care of Precise by 2 lengths in the Falmouth and I think more of the same looks on the cards.
Yes, the Deauville track might suit Precise a bit better, but Blue Bolt also gave away 9lbs the last day and 7lbs this time.
Colin Keane heads over for the ride and he’s yet to finish out of the first two on her – including five wins.
I’ll take Blue to ‘bolt’ up again today.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Sunday 2nd August, 2026)
2:45 Chester PURE GRIT
This looks another ‘match-up’ race, between this Andrew Balding runner and the Ed Walker entry Shakwaa.
Pure Grit has had the benefit of two runs though and the last also came here at Chester, which is a plus.
Despite losing that day (2nd) the winner could be above average and with Oisin Murphy in the plate I’ll side with Pure Grit to dig deep here.
4:30 Galway STAR GALAXY
Favourites have won 70% of the last 10 runnings of this race and I think there’s a good chance of that carrying on today.
This Noel Meade runner has been getting better with each run – running 6th on debut at then 2nd last time at Leopardstown.
The most recent came over 7f too and with the Meade yard also winning this race last season that is another plus in my book.
With another step forward Star Galaxy can ‘shoot’ home today.
5:30 Galway LINFORD
Willie Mullins and Patrick Mullins have won 2 of the last 4 runnings and look primed for more success today.
This 4yold has caught the eye in winning his two starts to date with ease and will be a warm order to land the three-timer.
Especially as he’s already beaten the likely second favourite in the betting, Caislean Gear by 5 1/2 lengths last time.
Linford can be ‘quick out the blocks’ and land the three-timer.
