Andy Newton’s Lay Of The Day Horse Racing Tip: Friday 31st July 2026
7:48 Bath: CANDY WARHOL
Has been knocking on the door in recent races with several placed efforts.
But is on a run of 17 races with no win.
On a plus has dropped to a handy mark (59) and gets a 5lb claimer today too.
However, also only has 3 wins from 49 in his career, so hasn’t been an easy horse to catch right.
Plus is also now aged 7, so you feel his career curve will be slightly on the down.
Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).

“Generous Rascal has put in couple of okay placed runs since joining from the Oliver Cole stable, yet his mark has slipped nicely. . We’re switching from cheek-pieces to first-time blinkers and if they have the desired effect, he shouldn’t be too far away.” DYLAN CUNHA
