Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Friday 24th July, 2026)
6:40 York CORAL COVE
The James Owen yard continue to tick over nicely and this Lucky Vega filly is taken to carry on their good form.
She caught my eye the last day at Donny, when staying on well to take second over this 7f trip.
Is sure to have learned a lot from that run and being a filly gets a handy 8lbs from her main rival in the betting – The First Drop.
The form of that 2nd has also been boosted with the 3rd China In Your Hand winning next time.
I’ll take Coral Cove to make a splash here with Kieran Shoemark in the saddle.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Thursday 23rd July, 2026)
4:48 Cork HANNEY BOY
On known form this 2yold should be taking this race – having run the useful Carry The Flag to a close third at Naas in a Listed race last time.
Into calmer waters here and has run twice here at Cork in the past too (2nd both times) so that track experience will also be a plus.
Hanney can be the ‘boy’ today.
6:26 Chepstow PREFER THE SISTER
Another from the in-form James Owen yard here – a mare at the top of her game at the moment.
She heads here winning three of her last four and is back actually rated 5lbs lower than last time.
Mason Paetel can also claim a handy 5lbs this time and off this mark is 9lbs well-in before her revised mark kicks in.
The only niggle would be her busy spell catching up with her, but I still think she’s wroth sticking with with a week to get over that last win.
Luckily the wife doesn’t have any sisters – so I’d never be getting in trouble saying I ‘Prefer The Sister’!
7:50 York DIAMOND RAIN
Today’s final muggy Lucky 15 pick is at York and really on the ratings this Godolphin runner should be taking this.
She’s rated 112 and 7lbs clear of the next best, Qilin Queen.
Yes, she’s been a tad disappointing in her last two runs as a beaten favourite last time too.
But has still won 4 of her 10 career starts and is down from a G3 to Listed level this time.
William Buick only has two rides today and this is one – Diamond Rain should really be ‘sparkling’.
