Today’s Free Each Way Horse Racing Tips: Thursday 9th July, 2026

3:00 Newmarket: TEN CARAT HARRY

Calico Blue is noted here too – having run well to be 4th at Royal Ascot last time in the Palace Of Holyroodhouse.

But another horse that ran in that contest was the third – Ten Carat Harry – and I was impressed with how he finished the race off that day.

He was only 4 lengths off the impressive winner Bacio over 5f, but the way he finished suggests this step up to 6f will be ideal.

Saffie Osborne rides, so I’ll take Ten Carat Harry to go close to landing gold today.

6:52 Newbury: THUNDEROUS LOVE

This Johnny Portman horse won this race 12 months ago and is back rated only 2lbs higher.

Since taking this he won off a mark of 70 at Salisbury so today’s rating of 68 is within range.

You feel this would have been a season target again – having won the pot 12 months ago and Rob Hornby, who knows the horse well, continues in the plate.

I’ll side with Love to ‘Thunder’ home again.

7:50 Epsom: RAGE OF THUNDER

Another ‘Thunder’ horse here and yes, not really an e/w price – but the Gary Moore yard are in fine fettle at the moment and this horse won well the last day.

That success came at Newbury 16 days ago by 1/2 a length, but looked to have a bit more up his sleeve.

Up 6lbs for that makes life harder but clearly in good heart and Frankel jockey Tom Queally has a decent record on him.

In a race with little depth, Rage Of Thunder is the call to ‘storm’ home.
