Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
2:20 Market Rasen WAYMAKER
Ran well at Southwell in early June and was going well last time at Uttoxeter until jinking at the 4th hurdle and unshipping Shane Fenelon.
Yes, that’s a worry as it could happen again – but James Bowen, who has ridden the horse before, takes over.
While the first-time cheekpieces are on today to try and keep him focused.
The fact he’s out just 7 days after that last run suggests all is well and I’ll take him to make amends here.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:41 Ayr INSTANT FORCE
First time on the track today so always many unknowns with first-time out 2yolds.
But this Karl Burke runner has been well-supported in the betting and the yard also have history in this race – winning the prize in 2019 and 2022.
Clifford Lee rode both their winners too and is getting the leg-up here.
The twice-raced Conciliate is the obvious danger and was a fair 3rd last time. The 2nd has won since too, so the form is solid and if the Burke newcomer fails to shine this John Butler horse should be winning.
4:00 Market Rasen FRINGILL DIKE
Old boy at 9, but still loving his racing and won well the last day over CD by 9 lengths.
Up 7lbs for that looks fair – having won off 141 back in Aug 24 and is now still way below that (127).
Regal Renaissance looks the main threat, but it’s worth noting the Fergal O’Brien yard won this last year too and send Gateau De Miel to post this time.
5:10 Market Rasen MASTERIUS
This David Pipe runner has been second in his opening two races – the first in a point and last time in a NH Flat race.
That came here at Market Rasen, so the track experience is an obvious plus and should hold the experience edge over most of these.
A repeat of that last run will set a fair standard for the others to aim at.
