Today’s Free Each Way Horse Racing Tips: Sunday 5th July, 2026

3:40 Southwell: HONKY TONK GIRL

This Oliver Cole runner caught my eye the last day when 5th on debut at Bath – beaten only 3 1/4 lengths.

That came over 5 1/2f but this step up to 7f looks a good move, after doing her best work at the finish that day.

With the expected improvement looks sure to get involved. Danny Muscutt is in the plate.

3:50 Ayr: MIDNIGHT STEPPERS

The Ed Dunlop yard are in good form and so their three runners today Bearish, Kokanee and Midnight Steppers are all of interest today.

Of these trio of runners, the last named looks like being the biggest priced so is chanced in this low-level classified race.

Clifford Lee has been booked to ride and the drop back to a mile should suit after not quite seeing out 1m2f the last day at Kempton.

It’s also interesting the first-time blinkers are on. And, as mentioned, the yard are in much better form now.

5:00 Ayr: THEORYOFEVERYTHING

Landed this race 12 months ago and is back rated 3lbs lower.

Plus connections have also booked Conor Whiteley to ride and claim 5lbs. So based on last year’s win this David O’Meara runner is much better off.

Three recent runs this season have been solid, despite not winning.

Oh and the last time he ran off a mark in the 80’s (87) he won.
