Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
3:30 Fontwell – ALMUHIT (NAP)
With Granny Hawkins out of the race, this should really be going to the Faye Bramley-trained Almuhit, who brings the best form to the table.
He’s been running well in slightly better races than this so the ease in grade is a plus and has been kept ticking over with a recent spin on the flat (10 days ago).
This is also the only ride on the day for Harry Cobden – so really, if running Almu should be a ‘hit’ here. Okay, that was a bad one!
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:30 Fontwell – VISCOUNTESS NELSON (NB)
The Henderson yard are not having many summer jumpers at the moment, so I think it’s interesting they’ve got this one out today.
She was a nice winner up at Perth 48 days ago and with that only her second run over the sticks should have more to come.
That day, she powered home to win by 4 3/4 lengths and despite having to give weight away looks the sort to have more to come.
Is also owned by ITV Racing presenter Francesca Cumani’s Old Gold Racing syndicate.
7:00 Hamilton – ROYAL HERITAGE
A Wathnan Racing juvenile won well for us as the NAP earlier in the week and they should have another one here.
Bought for £800k at the breeze-ups and the betting is speaking positively for this Blue Point colt too.
The added plus – as these first-time out runners always come with unknowns – is the Hamad Al Jehani yard are in good form (50% in the last 14 days).
I’ll take Royal Heritage to be crowned at the first time of asking, with James Doyle also heading up to ride.
7:30 Hamilton – GLORY OF SEAS
Another of the big muggy favourites on the day, that is sure to be in many accas is this Roger Varian gelding for Godolphin.
Yes, he’s been a tad frustrating with three runs and no wins yet – but heads here having been gelded and still brings the best form to the race.
Having run third at Chester the last day in a better race than this and can be expected to run better now he’s a bit lighter downstairs.
Glory Of Seas can sail home here, with Ray Dawson doing the steering.
