ITV broadcasts racing at least once every week – most commonly on Saturdays – so there’s usually something for fans to look forward to.

However, coverage can rotate across the network, appearing on the main ITV channel, ITV3 or ITV4 depending on the fixture.

Major festivals such as the Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot are typically shown on the flagship ITV channel due to their popularity and prestige.

Whenever racing is on ITV, we also provide free tips and best bets for the day’s televised and this week’s horse racing fixtures.

How To Watch ITV Racing

ITV Racing is available free-to-air on terrestrial television, with coverage rotating between ITV, ITV3 and ITV4.

Many leading betting sites also offer live streaming of races to customers who have placed a qualifying bet.

Some ITV races may additionally appear on the Sky Sports Racing schedule, depending on media rights agreements with specific racecourses.

The History Of ITV Racing

UK terrestrial racing coverage was previously shared between the BBC and Channel 4.

That changed in January 2016 when Channel 4 lost the broadcasting rights after more than three decades.

ITV Racing officially launched in January 2017 and remains the UK’s only free-to-air television broadcaster dedicated to horse racing coverage.

Channel 4’s final day covering the sport came on 27th December 2016, featuring the Christmas meeting from Kempton Park and the Welsh Grand National from Chepstow.
