Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip

2:45 Carlisle LIGHT OF DAWN

A chance is taken on this Karl Burke breeze-up buy being good enough to win on debut.

The fact they are sending this €625k Wathnan Racing buy on the trip to Carlisle is a plus for me and the fact James Doyle is off to ride is another positive.

This is Doyle’s only ride on the day too and despite the Rebecca Menzies runner Deputy Vice having had the benefit of a previous run (3rd), Light Of Dawn is still chanced to shine and be a cut above this lot. With the Burke team also boasting a fair 28% SR at this venue with their juveniles.

Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips

6:09 Windsor  BAYAANN

This should be fairly straight-forward for this William Haggas Too Darn Hot colt, who sets the standard on his recent 2nd at HQ.

Before that he beat Lake Como on debut at Lingfield back in November and with that last run coming off a 6 month break can be expected to have improved a load for it.

Tom Marquand rides and the Haggas camp boast a 23% SR with their 3yolds here at Windsor to add further confidence.

6:18 Roscommon WORKAHEAD

The Henry De Bromhead yard continue to be in fair form – with a 27% SR in the last 14 days.

And really they should be improving on those figures here with this 8yold chaser.

He won at Wexford well last month and despite the form of that win taking a knock (Supersundae) yesterday, he still got the job done by 7 1/2 lengths.

With that only his first start over fences, then we can also expect more improvement in the locker.

6:39 Windsor COCKADE

I’d rather have a lemonade!! But I think this Gosden runner has a great chance of landing the drinks money.

He ran in a better race than this on debut, when 4th at Kempton, but the form of that run looks fair, with the winner King’s Trail running in the 2000 Guineas and Dante since.

That race has also seen Knights Charge (3rd) and Colourband (2nd) win since to bolster the form and with 189 days to freshen up and the Gosden yard in fair form (34%, 14 days), then Cockade can take the winners’ rosette here.
