Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
8:42 Lingfield – TWILIGHT JET (NAP)
Former Group-winning sprinter that was rated as high as 114 (2022), but lost his way a bit over the last few seasons.
But as a result dropped to a mark of 74 and got back to winning ways last time here at Lingfield.
Up just 3lbs for that, but Ashley Lewis is booked to claim 3lbs too – so gets in here off the same mark really.
Has had 12 days to get over that last run and looked to have a bit up his sleeve at the line.
Jet can fly home again at this ‘Twilight’ fixture.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:58 Catterick – MR WRITER
This James Fanshawe runner looks to have found a good chance to finally get off the mark after some fair efforts in defeat.
Last seen running second at Lingfield over today’s 7f trip and is taking on five other rivals that are a lot less experienced.
Mr Writer should have the form in the ‘book’ to take this.
3:10 Carlisle – ESTRANGE (NB)
The David O’Meara form at the moment is a small worry (2-52) – but their star filly here can hopefully improve those stats.
She won this race 12 months ago, when it was staged at Haydock, and despite being switched to Carlisle and this being her first run here – there is no reason why the course won’t suit.
Yes, she’s also back from a 224-day break, but is still rated 116 and 6lbs clear of the next best Azaniya, who will have a bit to prove over this longer trip.
Estrange can unfriend the bookies here.
3:25 Beverley – URCHIN
Caught my eye on debut at Ripon (3rd) and backed that up with a facile win at the same track last month.
He bolted up by 11 lengths that day at Yorkshire’s ‘Garden Track’ and despite having a penalty for that this unexposed Karl Burke runner looks the sort to have a lot more to come.
He’s also got a top owner in Philip Newton (no relation), so it will be a shock is Urchin isn’t making a ‘splash’ here and moving onto better things.
