Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
4:05 Chepstow – THANOS (NAP)
This Harry Charlton runner bolted up at Lingfield the last day by 6 lengths and I don’t think a 6lb rise will be enough to stop him going in again.
That win also came in the first-time cheekpieces, which are on again today and there is no real reason why the step up from 7f to 1m won’t suit either.
Lewis Edmunds takes over in the plate and the yard continue in fine form – heading into today with a 33% (5-15) SR in the last 14 days.
Thanos is the call to be a ‘superhero’ here.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:10 Carlisle – KRISSY
Won well at Musselburgh the last day – storming home by 7 1/2 lengths – and only has a 5lb penalty to carry for that.
Rhys Elliott, rode the last day and can claim 3lbs (claimed 5lbs last time) and the Jim Goldie yard head here in fair form with an 18% SR in the last 14 days.
3:00 Chepstow – ALFARAZ
This Andrew Balding runner was only 1 1/4 lengths behind Maltese Cross the last day and that horse has since franked the form to win the Lingfield Derby Trial.
He also in the top half of the Epsom Derby market, so to get within a few lengths of that Haggas runner, suggests Alfaraz will be tough to beat here.
David Probert rides for the first time.
8:25 Wolverhampton – TRUE PROMISE (NB)
CD winner Ancient State is noted for the Adam Kirby yard, but in what looks a bit of a two-horse shootout, I’ll take True Promise to live up to his word.
Yes, he was down the field the last day at Ascot, but that was a better race and the return to the AW is a plus – where all his career wins have come.
Oisin Murphy has been booked too and the Fionn McSharry camp also boast a cracking 44% SR with their 4+ year-olds here at Wolves to add further confidence.
