Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Of The Day Tip
2:30 Ludlow: UN SEN A LA VIE
Likely to be a tad short today’s best bet – which is a bit of a shame, but really if running to form this Twiston-Davies-trained 6yold should be taking this.
I was impressed with his win here over CD back in December and last time got bogged down in heavy ground at Newbury in a better race.
But still ran okay to be 4th that day.
He’s been freshened up with 74 days off since and I feel will much prefer the better ground today.
For non-French fans – Un Sen A La Vie translates to ‘a purpose in life’ (so Google tells me) – so hopefully be can give today’s ‘muggy favs’ acca some purpose in the opening leg.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
3:10 Perth: PANIC ATTACK
This classy mare was last seen falling in the Grand National 11 days ago.
The good news – if there is every any around a fall – is that tumble came early on (3rd fence).
Meaning she didn’t have a hard race and is back taking on her own sex here.
Yes, Apple Away, who won this race in 2024 is noted, but the Skelton runner has 9lbs in-hand on these terms, so I think that should be enough to see her get back to winning ways.
4:53 Taunton: KILNEW SUPREME
The Paul Nicholls yard often to well at Taunton – one of their nearer tracks – and in a race that seems to lack depth has another good chance of a winner here.
This 5yold has fired in a few silvers to date – with the last coming at Wincanton in March after a wind op.
But I think it’s interesting he’s up in trip today to 2m3f, which can eke out the necessary improvement.
7:30 Taunton: MODERN STYLE
Modern Style record a facile win at Exeter just 5 days ago – winning by 25 lengths.
With connections stating his first run in a handicap as the main reason for the improvement.
But he’s also only had five career runs, so these younger horses can suddenly click – which is what he seems to have done.
Out again quickly could be a plus or a negative.
But as long as this race doesn’t come too soon and he can cope with the longer trip (up 3f) then I think a 7lb penalty might not be enough to stop Modern turning on the Style again tonight.
