Horse Racing NAP Of The Day Tip 🥇
3:10 Exeter: WESTERN CROSS
This Hobbs/White runner heads here 0-5 but has shown promise in his starts to suggest he’s about to break his duck soon.
Yes, he was beaten 12 1/2 lengths the last day here at Exeter (handicap debut), but ran on well to the line in the first-time hood.
The hood is on again today and is down 3lbs in the ratings. Plus the better ground is expected to suit.
This is also a race the Hobbs yard won in 2018, while the 8th in this last race (French Emperor) has since franked the form to win at Bangor.
Looks to have recent winner Arnie Moon to beat, but the Joe Tickle yard are only 1-33 with their runners at Exeter.
So Western Cross is taken to go ‘north’ here and win his first career race.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips🏇
1:57 Pontefract: SPACEMAN
Second on his only start at Redcar last November was a top first run.
Is the call to build on that today, despite draw 11 maybe not being ideal – with 5 of the last 6 runners drawn 5 or lower.
But the Fahey yard have also won 2 of the last 3 runnings and jockey Oisin Orr was on their winner 12 months ago.
The yard also have the lower-drawn Invincible Boy, but Spaceman the pick to blast home.
2:40 Exeter: MADAME DE LABRUNIE
Very poor selling handicap hurdle so a ‘proceed with caution’ race.
But of this dire bunch the Fergal O’Brien runner has the best form coming into the race and she should really be winning a race like this.
5:10 Exeter: MACKLIN
The once smart Franco De Port is noted after a fair 3rd on his return run in January.
But it was hard to not be taken by the way Macklin won here at Exeter last time and is the call to win again.
Yes, he’s got to give weight (4lbs) to Franco De Port and that runner has a 7lb claimer on too.
But the Will Biddick-trained pick is a year younger (10) and we know heads here at the top of his game.
Today’s Each-Way Horse Racing Betting Tips🏇
2:57 Pontefract: UPPERCASE
Yet to win but has only had 5 career starts and has shown some ability for the Harry Eustace team – including a close 2nd here last July.
On the same mark today, but connections have booked 7lb claimer Travis Ford to help and the yard head here in good order with 3 winners in their last 7 sent to post.
Uppercase is the call to make a bold showing.
4:27 Pontefract: JOHNNY BOOM
The Shaun Lycett yard are 2-4 with their recent runners here at Pontefract and run course winner Johnny Burn here.
Rossa Ryan also catches the eye in the saddle and this 8yold returns on a pound lower mark that last time.
A very open affair, but Johnny could ‘boom’ home here at a nice e/w price.
5:35 Pontefract: MU MU LAND
Another yard that does well here with their runners is Julie Camancho, with a 26% SR with their 4+yolds at this track.
This 4yold returns from a wind op too and is also 2lbs lower than when last seen running 4th at Chelmsford in December.
That came over 6f, but is dropped back to 5f here and has shown enough pace in the past to suggest it will suit.
The final plus is the booking of Tom Keily-Marshall, who takes off a handy 5lbs.
6:00 Southwell: DEPORTED
Had just the three career runs and despite not winning has shown promise in each start for the Ollie Sangster team.
Into a handicap for the first time here and has been gelded since his last run will help.
As will the step up to 1m for the first time.
Jamie Spencer has also ridden this 3yold gelding twice in the past and gets the leg-up again.
Deported is the call to fly home.
8:30 Southwell: REGINALD CHARLES
Today’s final each-way horse racing tip comes in the last race on the day at Southwell.
This 6yold was a winner here in December and wasn’t beaten far last time (6th) off today’s 3lbs higher mark.
Had another small break (2 months) and the Geoff Oldroyd yard continue to have a solid SR here at Southwell, with a 30% return with their 4+ yolds.

What Does NAP Mean In Horse Racing?
The term NAP bet or NAP of the Day in horse racing is often used by tipsters – but what does it actually stand for?
In short, it is the BEST bet of the day and the one that is thought to have the best chance of winning by that tipster.
The term ‘NAP’ is short for the word Napoleon, which comes from a French card game of the same name.
You’ve probably heard of the phrase ‘having a NAP hand’ and this is where the term comes from. Having a good, or the best hand in this card game.

What Does NB Mean In Horse Racing?
It’s similar to a NAP – but in horse racing, NB stands for ‘Next Best’.
In simple terms, it’s the tipster’s second-strongest selection of the day. Not quite their headline pick, but the one just behind it in confidence.
How Does A Lucky 15 Horse Racing Bet Work?
A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular bets in horse racing – and for good reason.
It involves FOUR selections combined into a multiple bet.
The name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from the fact that your four picks create 15 separate bets, broken down like this:
- 6 Doubles
- 4 Trebles
- 4 Singles
- 1 Four-Fold
That’s where the 15 comes from.
A Lucky 15 is also similar to a Super Yankee, although that bet is bigger. A Super Yankee consists of 26 bets in total – 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.

How Much Does A Lucky 15 Bet Cost?
Because there are 15 separate bets involved, your total stake is multiplied by 15.
So, for example, a £1 Lucky 15 will cost £15 in total.
If you place it each-way (covering both win and place), the cost doubles. A £1 each-way Lucky 15 would therefore come to £30.
How To Place A Horse Racing Bet?
To place a bet, head to any of the horse racing betting sites, where you’ll see all the day’s fixtures and racecards.
Go to the ‘horse racing’ section and find the meeting and race time your horse is running in. Each runner will be listed with their current odds displayed alongside.
Once you’ve opened an account and deposited funds, you’re ready to go.
Click on the horse you want to back and it will be added to your bet slip. From there, enter your chosen stake and confirm the bet.
That’s it – you’re in.
