Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats 2026: How Many Winners Did The ‘Big Five’ Have?

Now the dust has settled on the biggest jumps meeting of the season, we look at the Cheltenham Festival trainer stats 2026 around the main FIVE yards.

Including how many Cheltenham Festival winners Willie Mullins had in 2026, plus his overall total now.

Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats 2026: How The ‘BIG FIVE’ Fared

Trainer 2026 Cheltenham Festival Winners Total Cheltenham Festival Winners
Willie Mullins (8) – Kargese, Lossiemouth, King Rasko Grey, Kitzbuhel, Il Etait Temps, Apolon De Charnie, Dinoblue, Gaelic Warrior  121

Paul Nicholls (0) – No 2026 Cheltenham Festival Winners 50
Gordon Elliott (1) – Wodhooh 42
Dan Skelton (2) – Madara, Supremely West 13

Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats 2026: WILLIE MULLINS (8 Winners)

The winning-most Cheltenham Festival trainer is Willie Mullins with a staggering 121 success on the biggest stage.

He fired in another EIGHT winners over the four days IN 2026, that included a famous Champion Hurdle/Gold Cup double.

With Lossiemouth romping away with the Champion Hurdle on the Tuesday and Gaelic Warrior landing Friday’s Gold Cup.

Mullins had 10 winners at the Cheltenham Festival in 2025, so his 2026 total was two short – but this still took his overall tally past the 120 mark.

And if he carries on at this level of winners, Mullins can be expected to hit the 150 Cheltenham winners mark by 2030.

Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats 2026: NICKY HENDERSON (3 Winners)

Next up is Nicky Henderson, who is the next best when it comes to winning at the Cheltenham Festival – with 78 overall winners.

His Seven Barrows yard hit the ground running in the opening race when Old Park Star won the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.

This horse is expected to head straight over fences next season and is already the 9/2 favourite for the Arkle Novices’ Chase in 2027.

The Nicky Henderson Cheltenham Festival trainer stats also tell us he had three winners at the 2026 in total.

With Holloway Queen taking the National Hunt Challenge Cup on day one.

Plus, his Jingko Blue winning the BetMGM Cup (the old Coral Cup) on the Wednesday.

Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats 2026: Paul Nicholls (0 Winners)

The 2026 Cheltenham Festival was one to forget for trainer Paul Nicholls – with NO winners over the four days.

Nicholls had pinned his hopes on No Drama This End in the Turners Novices’ Hurdle on Wednesday.

But despite being sent off as the 5/2 favourite, was pulled up.

Paul Nicholls, therefore remains on 50 overall Cheltenham Festival winners – with this last Caldwell Potter in the 2025 Jack Richards Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.

Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats 2026: Gordon Elliott (1 Winner)

Ahead of the 2026 Cheltenham Festival, trainer Gordon Elliott had many chances – including El Cairos, Romeo Coolio and Brigherdaysahead.

However, these fancies bombed out – and it was left to his trusty Wodhooh to save the day for Elliott.

His winning-machine mare won the Mares’ Hurdle on Thursday at 5/6 – and gave Elliott his second win in the race, having taken it with Apple’s Jade in 2017.

But, like the 2025 Festival, Wodhooh was to go onto be the ONLY Gordon Elliott winner at the 2026 meeting – after she won the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle 12 months earlier.

This win took Elliott’s overall Cheltenham Festival trainer stats to 42 winners.

Cheltenham Festival Trainer Stats 2026: DAN SKELTON (2 Winners)

Trainer Dan Skelton is known for his ‘plot jobs’ – and his two Cheltenham Festival winners in 2026 certainly fell into that category again.

The New Lion failed to land the Champion Hurdle on the Tuesday, but Skelton still found a winner on the opening afternoon.

Madara was well backed on day one in the Plate and duly obliged with an easy 7 1/2 length romp.

Then two days later, Supremely West was another horse many thought had been ‘laid out’ for his race – The Pertemps Hurdle.

They were right too, with the 8yold winning as the 100/30 favourite by 3 1/2 lengths.
