You’ll find FOUR picks, including a NAP and NB, combined into a 14/1 ‘muggy favourites’ acca for Wednesday😉.

Horse Racing Lucky 15 Tips – Today’s ‘Muggy’ Favourites Acca 📝😉

  • 3:40 Catterick: JUNIOR DES MOTTES
  • 4:10 Catterick: GABORIOT (NAP)
  • 5:22 Naas: BROWN BOOTS
  • 5:40 Southwell: HATYSA (NB)

📈 See Andy Newton’s horse racing NAP results for 2026 below ⬇️

Horse Racing NAP Of The Day Tip 🥇

4:10 Catterick: GABORIOT (NAP)

I wouldn’t normally put a best bet up in a Hunters’ Chase, but the Greenall/Guerriero camp owe us after yesterday’s main pick getting chinned on the line – arrggggh!!

Anyway, regardless of all that, this 10 year-old actually won this race in 2024, so you feel it’s a contest the yard would  have targeted again.

Last seen being pulled up in the Becher Chase at Aintree, but this will be miles easier and before that showed he retains his ability after a fine second in the Grand Sefton – again at Aintree.

He’s had three months off since to freshen up, but is a horse that goes well off a break.

Huw Edwards (no not that one!), who won this race on another horse last year, has also been booked to do the steering.

I’ll take Gab to run riot in this race for a second time.

Horse Racing NB Tip 🏇

5:40 Southwell: HATYSA (NB)

The Andrew Balding yard are in good form at the moment – they had another winner yesterday and head into today on a 40% SR in recent weeks.

This 4yold seemed to just get a bit tired in the closing stages at Newcastle last time (3rd) – but is back to a course she’s won at and the longer trip looks a plus as well.

Oisin Murphy is also in the plate and with that last run his first since September can be expected to improve for it.

Other Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips Today🏇

3:40 Catterick: JUNIOR DES MOTTES

The Nick Scholfield camp have had a top first season, with 14 wins and two of those have come from this improving 7yold.

He’s impressed in winning his last two at Fakenham and Plumpton.

Is up another 7lbs here and the small niggle is he’ll have three quick races – but seemed to win with a bit up his sleeve the last day to suggest the three-timer is very much on.

5:22 Naas: BROWN BOOTS

Another horse in a hat-trick today is this Laim P Cusack runner over in Ireland.

He’s one his last two – one over fences and last time over fences.

Is back over the smaller obstacles today rated 7lbs higher, but won with a fair amount in-hand the last day – albeit looking a tad tired at the line.

Is back just six days later, so again there is a small concern on this score – but in a weak race still looks the one to be on.

Brian Hayes rides again.

Bonus Each-Way Betting Tips🏇

4:02 Southwell: EQUALITY

8yold, who was once rated as high as 110 back in August 2023.

Has dropped to a mark of 92 now after no win since April 2024, but that came off 105 – so is still looking well-handicapped off 13lbs lower.

Draw 2 is fine too and the Charles Hills yard boast a 25% SR with their older horses here.

In an open affair, he represents some e/w value.

8:00 Kempton: KURIOS LADY

Hasn’t really sparkled yet, but has only had three career runs so still has plenty of time to improve.

Is also into a handicap for the first time today, which will help and looks on a fair opening mark of 70.

She was a fair third here two runs back and not far back in 4th last time too.

Plus the James Tate team often do well here with a 21% SR with their 4+ year-olds.

8:30 Kempton: HUNTLY LODGE

Heads here 0-10 but was only beaten two lengths at Lingfield the last day in a similar race.

Kept on well that day too and Jack Dace, who rode that day, can claim a handy 5lbs again.

It’s probably one of those races pretty much anything could win – but the Amanda Perrett team are another that do well here.

Boasting a 225 return with their older horses at the venue.

Worth Knowing Today 🤔

🏇Trainer Jamie Snowden has a 67% (2-3 SR) with his NH Flat runners at Catterick – 4:40, Enya
🏇4:10 Catterick – Gaboriot won this race in 2024
🏇Trainer Ross O’Sullivan is just 2-43 (5%) with his hurdlers at Naas
🏇4:52 Naas – The last 4 winners carried 11-4 to 11-9 and aged 6 or 7 – plus last three claimer ridden.

Today’s Longest Travellers 🗺️

🏇4:40 Catterick: LUNA LUX, 313 miles, (Anthony Honeyball)

Andy Newton’s LAY OF THE DAY ⛔🏇❌

🏇5:00 Kempton: MAGNA

Has been running well of late with four top three finishes – including two wins.

But is up 4lbs from the last of those successes, which was also only by a short-head.

Yes, Myla Coppins claims 7lbs here to help, but the worry for me is the form of the Tony Carroll yard at the moment.

They are just 1-43 (2%) with their recent runners.

Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).

What Does NAP Mean In Horse Racing?

The term NAP bet or NAP of the Day in horse racing is often used by tipsters – but what does it actually stand for?

In short, it is the BEST bet of the day and the one that is thought to have the best chance of winning by that tipster.

The term ‘NAP’ is short for the word Napoleon, which comes from a French card game of the same name.

You’ve probably heard of the phrase ‘having a NAP hand’ and this is where the term comes from. Having a good, or the best hand in this card game.

What Does NB Mean In Horse Racing?

It’s similar to a NAP — but in horse racing, NB stands for ‘Next Best’.

In simple terms, it’s the tipster’s second-strongest selection of the day. Not quite their headline pick, but the one just behind it in confidence.

How Does A Lucky 15 Horse Racing Bet Work?

A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular bets in horse racing — and for good reason.

It involves FOUR selections combined into a multiple bet. The name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from the fact that your four picks create 15 separate bets, broken down like this:

  • 6 Doubles
  • 4 Trebles
  • 4 Singles
  • 1 Four-Fold

That’s where the 15 comes from.

A Lucky 15 is also similar to a Super Yankee, although that bet is bigger. A Super Yankee consists of 26 bets in total — 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.

If you fancy today’s selections, you can use our Lucky 15 horse racing tips above to build this type of wager.

How Much Does A Lucky 15 Bet Cost?

Because there are 15 separate bets involved, your total stake is multiplied by 15.

So, for example, a £1 Lucky 15 will cost £15 in total.

If you place it each-way (covering both win and place), the cost doubles. A £1 each-way Lucky 15 would therefore come to £30.

How To Place A Horse Racing Bet?

To place a bet, head to any of the horse racing betting sites, where you’ll see all the day’s fixtures and racecards.

Go to the ‘horse racing’ section and find the meeting and race time your horse is running in. Each runner will be listed with their current odds displayed alongside.

Once you’ve opened an account and deposited funds, you’re ready to go.

Click on the horse you want to back and it will be added to your bet slip. From there, enter your chosen stake and confirm the bet.

That’s it — you’re in.
