Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Monday 3rd August, 2026)
5:10 Nottingham VENETIAN LION
This William Haggas runner caught the eye last time at Southwell – running on well and only just failing to get up.
The first two pulled clear of the rest that day too and today’s extra 1/2 a furlong should suit this colt too.
He’s only had four career runs too, and with a clear step in the right direction last time, then everything points to a big run.
The tongue tie is on again too and Tom Marquand, who has ridden him the last twice, also heads to Nottingham.
Yes, the danger is that he’s had a habit of being slowly away – but this is only his second run after being gelded, while – as mentioned – the longer trip will help.
Hopefully the Lion isn’t sleeping today in the stalls and if so can roar home at the fifth try.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Monday 3rd August, 2026)
2:24 Ripon WAR GAMING
This horse disappointed one of the NAPs last month, but I think is still worth giving another chance too.
He was 2nd on debut before that at Doncaster over 6f and with the run last time over 5f, I think the step back up in trip is a good move.
Last time he just looked a bit outpaced over the minimum trip.
The final plus is the top SR of the George Scott yard with their 2yolds here – they are 4-8 (50%).
I’ll side with Gaming to go to ‘War’ with Cieren Fallon in the plate.
2:30 Cork EMERALD ENIGMA
Willie Mullins should be firing in a winner here, with Paul Townend riding too.
The pair teamed up to win this race in 2024 with Aurora Vega.
This 6yold heads here 2-2 after wins a Cork and Punchestown back in March and May.
These came in NH Flat races but is over hurdles for the first time today.
Sure to be well-schooled with an 82-day break and having won here at Cork in the past, this is an added bonus.
It will be a shock if Emerald Enigma isn’t solving this puzzle.
4:47 Naas LIVENKA
Today’s final Lucky 15 horse racing tip comes at Naas with Livenka.
This 2yold was 3rd to Alpha at the Curragh at the end of June.
And backed that up with a smooth win at Fairyhouse last month.
That form looks solid with the second – Star Of State – bolting up since.
And even though this looks harder, she gets the fillies’ allowance off most of the others too.
