Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Monday 27th July, 2026)

3:15 Ayr: IMPERIAL GUARD (NAP)

This Michael Dods runner did us a favour last week – winning as he liked here at Ayr.

He’s up 7lbs for that win and also jumping up two grades into a C4 (from C6), but there is no denying he comes here in red-hot form.

The Michael Dods yard also won this race 12 months ago with another horse – which is a plus in my book.

So, I’ll side with Imperial Guard to stand tall again here.

Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Monday 27th July, 2026)

6:30 Ripon PURE MINT

Newcomer from the Crisford camp so a lot of unknowns.

However, one thing we do know is the yard love having 2yold winners here at Ripon.

They boast a cracking 55% SR with their juveniles at this track and that alone is a good reason to have this Minzaal colt on our side today.

Pure Mint can go well ‘fresh’ today.

7:05 Ripon FRACTIONAL

Up at Ripon another yard to look out for today is the William Haggas team – the boast a superb 43% record with their runners overall here.

They’ve got a few to note, one of which is this 3yold.

While the track stats for Haggas jump up to 52% with just their 3yolds.

Yes, this Frankel filly has been frustrating (0-5) to date and was beaten at odd-on the last day.

But the step up to 1m today will help (from 7f) and seemed to look a bit unbalanced over the ups and downs of Chepstow last time.

The Haggas yard also won this race 12 months ago.

I’ll side with Fractional to finally find the right numbers at the sixth attempt.

8:30 Windsor MY OLD MATE (Non-Runner)

Powered home to win here at the end of June and looks a good option to follow-up on a 5lb higher mark.

Rossa Ryan takes over from Jude Fernandes too, so no 7lb claim, but the form of that last win has been boosted since.

With the second Buckland Belle winning next time out.

This Moore runner is also up in trip today to 1m2f (from 1m) but certainly wasn’t stopping the last day and this extra yardage could also bring out more improvement.

My Old Mate is the call to be our friend today.
