Andy Newton Horse Racing NAP Tip Today (Wednesday 22nd July, 2026)

3:42 Catterick SOUND GLORIA (NAP)

Riddikulus is feared here after winning last time at Ripon and the runner-up bolting up next time.

But is up 4lbs this time and also had a 5lb claimer on last time, while the second only won a Classified Stakes race.

Therefore, I think the lesser-exposed Roger Varian runner here Sound Gloria should have more to come.

The yard don’t have many runner here at Catterick but boast a 2-4 (50%) record with their limited entries.

This Nathaniel filly was a staying on third the last day at Nottingham on her handicap debut and is off the same mark.

But crucially is up in trip today to 1m4f, and doing her best work at the finish last time over 1m 2f, then that looks a good move.

Ray Dawson rides and so I’ll side with Sound Gloria to make the most noise.

Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips (Wednesday 22nd July, 2026)

6:20 Leicester STAR VELOCITY

After a good win at Ffos Las last time connections seem to have found a good race for this filly to follow-up.

She got home by a length that day over 5f and despite having to give weight away seemed to have a bit more to come.

That was also only her second career run and Rossa Ryan continues in the plate.

It will be a shock if Velocity isn’t a ‘star’ again today.

6:30 Naas CONCORDE LANDED (NB)

10 runners here but it will be a shock if this isn’t going to either Queen Mary 5th Shimmering Sun or the impressive Naas winner Concorde Landed.

This Paddy Twomey runner went into many a notebook after dotting up on debut here earlier this month – winning by 5 lengths.

Yes, this race looks harder but that course experience will be a plus and with this filly having some fancy Group entries – will need to be winning this Listed affair.

The form of that last win has also been boosted with the 4th Shi Yang winning since.

Billy Lee rides, and so Concorde Landed is the call to ‘take-off’ again here.

6:50 Leicester BUCKLAND BELLE

Has been a beaten favourite in her last three races, which is a small worry.

But this is a poor race and this Ollie Sangster runner still looks to have the best form in the race.

Sangster agrees too – telling us at FromTheStables today “Buckland Belle has been running well and perhaps was a little unlucky not to win the last twice. It’s a weak race and I would be disappointed if she didn’t win it. “

Tom Marquand rides for the first time too and so Buckland Belle can chime here and land her second career win tonight.
