Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
5:30 Ayr – IS SHE NOW (NAP)
Not getting any younger at 8, but in recent runs has been turning back the clock to win her last two in good fashion.
The last came at Musselburgh and before that here at Ayr.
Is up another 4lbs for her most recent win, but looked to have a fair bit left in the tank, with her ears pricked at the line that day.
Trip and ground are fine again and David Nolan continues in the saddle.
Yes, a bit more needed upped in grade (C6 to C5) but thriving for her new trainer Daragh Bourke and I’ll take her to land the three-timer.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
3:15 Lingfield – VICTORY GOLD (NB)
This Godolphin runner was second on debut in May at Ascot and has run two fair races in defeat since.
Last seen running down the field (16) in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot but has shaped as if this step up to 7f will suit.
Oisin Murphy has ridden this Space Blues colt a few times in the past too and is back in the plate.
So with this a drop in grade and the extra yardage expected to bring out more – Victory can land ‘Gold’ here.
7:00 Wolverhampton – ROXELINA
170gns buy for the Amo boys and is yet to really repay any of that – with just a third on debut at Windsor.
Highly-tried the last day in the Albany Stakes (11th) at Royal Ascot but into a much easier race tonight and no reason why this first run on the AW won’t sit this Havana Grey filly.
Tongue-tie is on for the first time too and you feel connections will be very disappointed if she’s not breaking her duck today.
8:15 Ripon – VIETNORM
On a four timer after three wins since May – two on the level and one on the flat.
Including a course win here at Ripon three runs back so we know the track is fine.
Up just 3lbs from the last of his wins on the level but clearly in good heart and that recent win over the sticks at Market Rasen backs that up.
Another bold run expected.
