Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
8:23 Bellewstown LARK IN THE MORNIN (NAP)
This Joseph O’Brien horse landed this Conditions race last season and you feel this has been the target again.
Will be sharper for a run at the end of May at the Curragh – his first since September.
While Patrick Mullins is an obvious eye-catcher in the plate.
As well as taking the pot in 2025, the O’Brien team also won this race in 2022 and 2021.
I’ll take Lark In The Mornin, to be winning in the evening.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:39 Yarmouth THE UBERMENSCH
A horse that caught my eye a few months ago in the low-level races – but hasn’t really kicked on.
Is still hunting for his first win from nine starts, but has been placed in the top 3 in five of those.
Ran better again last time at Newcastle (2nd of 13) with a big weight.
Up in grade here, so more needed – but on a plus only has 9st-4lbs this time.
7:25 Newbury ALASKAN BEAR
This Jack Davison runners sets the bar quite high after running 4th to Great Barrier Reef in a Curragh G3 last time.
That horse has, of course, since won the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, so to get within 3 1/4 lengths of that O’Brien horse is the clear form for the others to aim at.
Jimtrott was well fancied on debut (2nd) and should provide the threat, but with two runs and proven G3 form, Alaskan Bear should be freezing out his rivals here.
8:30 Newbury THANOS (NB)
A horse that’s done us a few favours with recent wins at Lingfield and Chepstow.
Up 10lbs for the last of those, but that was an easy 4 3/4 length success over 1m for the first time.
Yes, more needed with the likes of Drymee and Del Corso having fair form too, but I’ll take this Harry Charlton runner to carry on his good form.
Thanos is the call to land the three-timer.
