Trainer Keri Brion has been listed with a pending banned-substance case in the latest HISA and HIWU weekly rulings update, with the matter tied to Brockton’s Penn National win on May 7.
The July 1 update, published by Thoroughbred Daily News from the national rulings portals, records a pending medication violation for the presence of methamphetamine in a sample taken from Brockton.
The case is not a final ruling. It is listed among pending Anti-Doping and Medication Control matters, meaning the regulatory process still has to run before any sanction is confirmed by the relevant authorities.
HISA weekly update lists multiple ADMC matters
Brion’s case was the headline item in a wider weekly round-up covering June 25 to July 1, which also included pending cases for Horacio De Paz, Carlos A. David, Valerie Shanyfelt, Jeremy J. H. Gillam, Andrew Simoff, Carlos R. Figueroa Jr., Hector Palma and Michael Simone.
The same update included resolved Class C medication violations involving Blake A. Kelly, John Jerry Robb, Jose Camejo, Lane Johnston and Regulo G. Rodriguez.
For Brion, whose stable is a familiar name in American jump racing, the listing is significant because methamphetamine is treated as a banned substance under the ADMC programme. The full weekly list was published in Thoroughbred Daily News’ HISA rulings update.
