Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
2:52 Ffos Las – BEELZEBUB (NAP)
Won easily at Windsor the last day and is back out just seven days later.
But the good news is he escapes a penalty for that win as it came in an apprentice race.
That was also his first run for trainer Tony Carroll (former David Loughnane) so has clearly hit the ground running with him.
Myla Coppins rides again and his time she can also claim her handy 7lbs.
So, having raced well off higher marks last season, he still seems well handicapped to me and can hopefully follow-up last week’s success.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:10 Stratford – SUDBURY HILL (NB)
Was left clear the last day at Newton Abbot with a late faller, but probably would have won easily anyway.
Has to give 7lbs away as a result of that win, but Josh Williamson booked to take off 5lbs helps.
So as long as this doesn’t come too soon (6 days) looks the obvious call to go in again for the Harry Derham camp.
3:30 Pontefract – CAPICHERA
This Ed Walker runner has been a bit frustrating so far with no wins in four – but has not been far away in her races.
The last was a good second to Rosa Inglesa in a handicap, who ran well at Royal Ascot next time, when third in the Sandringham.
Back into novice company will help and if backing up that form in his slightly easier looking race will be very hard to beat.
6:30 Windsor – CAPTAINCY
Clive Cox has a good record in this race – winning two of the last eight.
Plus he’s also got a solid 26% SR with his juveniles here at Windsor.
His debut third at Leicester has been boosted since with the winner Libertango winning the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot recently.
So with the expected improvement and 34 days to get over that first run, Captaincy is taken to lead them home here.
