Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
5:05 Carlisle – WINE DARK SEA (NAP)
I’ve been waiting for this horse to run for a while and hopefully it’s worth the wait.
Why? Well, the form of his last win at Ascot has been super-franked since.
With the 3rd Opportunity winning the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot last Friday.
While the 4th Too Soon has won at Epsom and the 6th Valedictory has also since won at Goodwood.
Oh and even the 11th – In The Breeze – has won at Goodwood since.
Therefore, despite a big weight here (10-1) I think a 5lb rise for that last win looks within range.
I’ll take Wine Dark Sea to land the drinks money.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:00 Carlisle – QUEEN OF CHRISTMAS (NB)
This Karl Burke 2yold made a pleasing debut (5th) at Nottingham earlier this month and with the expected improvement looks sure to go close here.
She was 5th and only 4 1/2 behind Senorita Bonita, who backed up that form with a fine 2nd in the Queen Mary Stakes last week at Royal Ascot.
Queen Of Christmas can he Queen Of Carlisle today.
2:30 Carlisle – SILESIA
The next Lucky 15 horse racing tip today is in the next Carlisle race – as this Kevin Ryan runner looks sure to be in the mix.
She has been a tad frustrating with three placed runs and no win, but all these came over 5f and has been finishing off her races to suggest this step up to 6f can do the trick.
Kevin Stott, who has ridden her in all three races, keeps the ride.
3:00 Carlisle – SOCIAL SPIRIT
Today’s final selection is also at Carlisle – as this Easterby entry heads here setting the standard.
He was third at Doncaster in May on debut and then ran well down at Epsom in the Woodcote Stakes to be 5th.
This will be a lot less competitive than that contest, but you feel that experience will be a big plus here and so I’ll take Social Spirit to ‘ghost’ home here.
