Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
6:45 Newton Abbot COUMEENOOLE (NAP)
This looks like being a straight shootout between Dan Skelton (Coulmeenoole) and his old boss Paul Nicholls (Outmaster), with the champion trainer the call to come out on top.
Yes, Outmaster was a nice winner over CD last time, but I’m not sure he beat a lot at 1/5.
Okay, the same could be said for the pick – winning at 2/13 last time at Uttoxeter, but before that win had run in some deeper races.
This will also be his 16th career start, so has way more experience than the Nicholls horse.
He seems to love the better summer ground and despite being back in trip here – we know he stays, having won over almost 3m last time.
Harry Skelton is sure to make full use of that stamina and looks the safer option from a yard with 44 winners already this season!
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:15 Beverley LADY CAROLINE LAMB
This Charlie Johnston produced a likeable debut run at Kempton last time and can build on that here.
I thought she stayed on well that day to suggest the extra half furlong here will be a positive – as will the stiffer Beverley finish.
Lady Caroline Lamb is the call to ‘roast’ her rivals.
3:30 Ffos Las ENGLISH TIME (NB)
Three opening runs without a win is a small worry, but I think this Harry Charlton runner has been gutsy in defeat and can gain a much-deserved first win today.
He was only just out-gunned the last day at Doncaster in the final strides (neck), but looks the sort to enjoy the slightly longer trip.
The first two pulled clear of the third that day too, so suggest the form is okay.
Lewis Edmunds, who has ridden him the last twice, keeps the ride and so this could be ‘Time’ for English to get off the mark.
6:25 Newbury BAYSIDE VIEW
Second on debut at Doncaster was a very pleasing first run from this Michael Bell filly – beaten just a neck.
She is yet another that will like the slightly longer trip today and it goes without saying improve for that experience.
Oh and the 4th that day – Cash Cove – has won since to further advertise the form.
