Andy Newton’s Lay Of The Day Horse Racing Tip: Friday 7th August 2026

7:20 Gowran Park: CITY OF DUBAI

This Paddy Twomey runner will be a popular pick after winning well on debut at Killarney in July.

That also came over today’s 1m trip and with the expected improvement is sure to be a player.

However, this is a fair step up to Listed level and the form of that win has been knocked since.

With the runner-up Francillon being turned over at odds-on (4th) yesterday.

Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).
