2:30 Southwell: HUCKLEBERRY STING
Not really an each-way price, but I wanted to get his one in today somewhere.
The Ellis camp have a top record with their chasers here at Southwell (38%) and a recent 2nd here came in a funny race where the winner poached a big lead.
Before that he won well at Bangor and so a repeat of that run will make him hard to beat.
4:00 Southwell: GRANITE SANDS
The Killahena/McPhearson team are in fine fettle at the moment – coming into today with a 57% in the last 14 days.
So their 5yold here catches the eye after a good third at Stratford last month.
That was only his fourth career outing too and there are signs from recent runs that he seems to be getting the hang of things.
Granite Sands looks a ‘solid’ each-way call here against the hot favourite Manalishi.
7:30 Sligo: THE DABBLER
One this race a few years back and is returning off a mark 9lbs lower.
Yes, hasn’t won a race since but this is why he’s dropped back down the ratings.
Heads here off the back of a fair run (4th) in a point too and should be fitter with that run coming off 6 months off.
8:21 Brighton: NO CLAIM BONUS
The Harry Eustace yard boast a 42% SR with their 3yolds at Brighton and so this Aclaim fiilly is noted.
She was 5th the last day at Lingfield and only beaten 3 lengths, but is down a pound here and ran on well to suggest her time might not be far away.
Is also taking on similar profile horses here and so No Claims Bonus looks a decent ‘insurance’ bet here.
