Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
5:35 Bath BILL THE BULL
The Clive Cox yard often do well with their youngers, so keep an eye on Madentine in the betting.
However, the clear form pick is this Adam Kirby runner, who ran a blinder in a Listed race at Sandown last time (4th).
Was only beaten a length that day and so unless one of the newcomers is special that is quite a high bar for the others to aim at.
Pat Cosgrave is back in the saddle.
I’ll take Bill to hit the Bullseye today.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
1:40 Thirsk EAGLE BAY
This Harriet Bethell runner has not been seen since running third at Catterick last October – when in Ed Walker’s hands.
But that was a nice first effort and connections have clearly taken their time with him since.
The yard known this family well too and with that form looking the best on show, so Eagle can ‘soar’ home here.
5:45 Doncaster MY MATE ROGER
Second the last three times, so deserves to take a gold.
Was only just run out of things last time at Windsor, but the first two pulled well clear of the third, so the form looks solid to me.
With 25 days to freshen up, I’ll take this Tom Clover runner to say ‘Roger and Out’ to his rivals today.
6:20 Doncaster – RULER OF TIME (NB)
Rising Aussie rider Zac Lloyd is over in the UK at the moment, with expected mounts at Royal Ascot in a few weeks.
But before that he’s been snapped up by Godolphin to ride tonight at Donny.
He’s on their 91-rated Ruler Of Time, who is yet to win a race, but has been running well in defeat, including a fine second at Meydan last time out.
Seet is feared, but the Appleby yard have also won this race a few times in recent times, and with young Zac sure to want to impress, this Godolphin gelding can ‘rule’ here.
