Navan Tips On Sunday 7th June 2026: O’Brien Filly To Bounce Back

See my Navan tips on Sunday 7th June 2026 as our weekly Sunday racing column returns once again. I quite like the chances of a couple, including in the Hill Of Tara Stakes.

Navan Tips –  Sunday 7th June 2026: Two Selections On The Day

It’s another Sunday of quality Irish racing and Navan host an eight-race card.

There’s also racing from Punchestown over jumps, but I’ll be sticking to the flat as the season really starts to heat up.

We’ve got two Listed races on the Navan card and I’ll be providing a tip in both of them.

See the full schedule below with my Navan tips highlighted.

  • 13:07 – Lynn Lodge Stud Irish EBF Maiden (5f)
  • 13:42 – Navan Racing Festival Early Bird Tickets On Sale Now Handicap (5f)
  • 14:17 – Book Your Hospitality Now For Navan Racing Festival Handicap (5f)
  • 14:52 – Navan Handicap (6f)
  • 15:27 – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Hill Of Tara Stakes (Listed, 1m1f)
  • 16:02 – Darley Irish EBF Kooyonga Stakes (Listed, 1m)
  • 16:37 – Cusack Hotel Group Family Raceday July 11th Handicap Div 1 (1m5f)
  • 17:12 – Cusack Hotel Group Family Raceday July 11th Handicap Div 2 (1m5f)

15:27 – Hill Of Tara Stakes (Listed, 1m1f): WEMIGHTAKEDLONGWAY

I’m hoping a return to Navan can bring WEMIGHTAKEDLONGWAY back to form.

She was running in plenty of good races last season, including both the Epsom and Irish Oaks and then she ended her campaign with defeats at both Longchamp and Ascot.

And she hasn’t had the best of four-year-old campaigns so far. She was beaten 21 lengths over 1m4f on her seasonal reappearance but looked much better then losing by two lengths in a good race at Haydock last time out.

However, I’m hopeful that she can get back to winning ways in an easier race than what she’s contested in recent times here as she clearly likes Navan.

I don’t think this daughter of Australia will have any issues coming down in trip again either and this might just be what she needs to get a 1 next to her name again.

Quick ground should be fine too and I think she has the class edge.

16:02 – Kooyonga Stakes (Listed, 1m): DROP DEAD GORGEOUS

DROP DEAD GORGEOUS ran desperately bad the last day and there was no real explanation but I’m willing to forgive her.

Her debut effort at Naas was good and I think coming down in both class and trip should suit here.

She’s back down to a mile after running over 1m2f when blowing out last time but her penultimate third in a decent Group 3 at the Curragh was encouraging.

The Dubawai filly struggled for racing room that day and still finished well so I think if she runs to that level she can win here.

I think she’s got a lot of potential and she’s entered in all of the fancy races, including the Coronation at Royal Ascot later this month.

She should be well up to winning a race of this nature and I can’t see her being beaten.

Ryan Moore rides and there’s a lot to like.
