Therefore, this 6yold mare of theirs today is of interest – despite not winning a race yet.
But she’s only had seven career runs and the plus today is that this will be her first time in a handicap.
Having also not looked to stay the 2m7f trip the last day, the drop back to 2m4f looks a good move and an opening mark of 80 looks fair.
I’d not be shocked to see more of a ‘crackerjack’ effort from queenie today.

With Captain Cool fancied over the sticks at Southwell today we could have a ‘Cool’ double as Mr Cool also looks to have a fair chance.
This Charlie Johnston runner continues to ease back down the handicap after not winning since June 2025 – but is a massive 10lbs lower now.
Yes, back up to Class 4 today, but that also means less racing weight (8-11). Plus with both career wins coming on the grass, then no excuses on that front.
The added plus is that the Johnston yard also boast a solid 24% SR with their 4+yolds here at Ponty.
