Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
2:35 Hamilton – BEARISH (NAP)
I think this Ed Dunlop runner can uphold the form against Pepsea – who he beat by 3/4 of a length the last day at Thirsk.
Yes, the runner-up is 7lbs better off and should improve for that first run, but I also think the longer trip today will suit Bearish better.
He stayed on well over 7f the last day, so the step up to 1m1f is a plus.
While the Dunlop yard remain in good order and prior to that recent win ran 4th to the promising Yazin at Newmarket last year.
Bearish is the call to growl at this rivals again today.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:15 Beverley – PENNY ARCADE
With two promising runs to date, this looks a great chance for this Karl Burke 2yold filly to get off the mark.
She was 2nd of 12 last time at Thirsk, but ran on well that day so should like today’s stiffer finish at Beverley.
The Burke team are in good form too at the moment so Penny Arcade can land the money here.
4:35 Hamilton – PORTH EILIAN (NB)
The form of the Ed Bethell yard is only average at the moment, but what we do know is they have a solid 34% SR with their 3yolds here at Hamilton.
This filly is also into a handicap for the first time today after three fair runs in maidens and novice races – and an opening mark of 69 looks fair.
She’s only got two others to beat and with one (Saxonphonist) coming from the out-of-form David O’Meara yard, that adds a bit more confidence.
7:30 Kempton – WATER TO WINE
Was meant to run in the Chester Vase earlier this month, but was taken out late on.
Connections need to get a run into him before a possible tilt at the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
This looks much easier than Chester and having impressed on debut in April at Newbury it will be a shock if he’s not winning this with ease.
Ryan Moore, who steered him home the last day, has also been booked to ride again.
And so it will be a major shock if Water To Wine isn’t landing the drinks money here – albeit at very short odds.
