Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
2:10 Catterick YACHTSMAN (NAP)
This former Gosden horse got off the mark at the fourth try for Jack Morland on Monday at Windsor and is back out quickly.
Yes, there is always a danger that this race will come too soon, but he won with plenty in-hand the last day with jockey Johnny Peate not having to reach for the whip either.
Carries a 6lb penalty for that win but most of that (5lbs) is offset with the Harry Vigors claim in this apprentice handicap.
“Yachtsman was very impressive at Windsor on Monday when we rode him differently. He’s in great shape still and this was too good an opportunity to miss. We’re staying at 6f with him and he shouldn’t have a problem with this sharp track. He can make light of the penalty. Big chance again.” Jack Morland (FromTheStables)

2:30 Haydock SCARLET LEGEND (NB)
This Andrew Balding runner went into many a notebook after a gusty second at Salisbury 18 days ago and would have learned bundles from that.
Over a similar trip today will be fine and certainly no disgrace in going down by a short-head to an odds-on shot on debut.
Rob Hornby, who rode that day, keeps the ride and so with the expected improvement Scarlet can be a ‘legend’ here.
2:40 Catterick ROUANE
Another Balding runner today that looks to have a big chance, having caught the eye last season with a third at Sandown and 2nd at Newbury.
The last of those came in the first-time hood, which is on again today, while the 4th and 5th in that last Newbury race have come out and won since.
7:00 Southwell ROYAL FUNFARE
Today’s final Lucky 15 horse racing tip comes on the AW at Southwell tonight for the Gosden team.
This Kingman filly was 2nd on debut at Kempton as a beaten jolly, which was a tad disappointing.
However, the first two pulled 2 1/2 lengths clear of the third that day and it goes without saying she’ll have learned a lot from that first experience on the track.
The switch to Southwell is fine, the Gosden team are in good form and also boast an impressive 34% SR with their 3yolds at this venue.
