Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip

6:42 Cork – AL HAARITH (NAP)

This Joseph O’Brien runner brings the best form to the table here, despite not getting his head in front yet.

Ran third to Hawk Mountain in the G2 Beresford Stakes last season when last seen on the track – beaten only 3 1/2 lengths over 1m.

Also probably didn’t quite see out the 1m trip that day, so the ease back to 7f here will suit – especially on slightly softer ground.

So, if bringing that form to the table here, then it will be disappointing if Al Haarith isn’t good enough today.

Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips

2:10 Lingfield – HENGEST

Won well at Windsor last time out on handicap debut for the Dylan Cunha team, who you can get daily info on the popular FromTheStables site.

“Hengest built on a promising run in a novice against decent younger rivals with an emphatic victory in a Windsor amateur handicap last week. He ‘s been raised 4lb for that in the latest ratings (today),so in effect he’s 1lb worse in here. He’s an improving type though and I’m confident he can handle the penalty. Big chance. ” Dylan Cunha

Is up 5lbs for that win so more on his plate, but I think the longer trip today will eke out more improvement (up to 1m 3 1/2f).

While the softer the ground should pose no issues based on breeding.

Luke Morris takes over, which is a small worry – as many know, I’m not his biggest fan – but hopefully he can do the business for us today.

6:20 Hexham – CONQUER THE BREEZE (NB)

Both career wins have come here at Hexham, including last time out when bolting up by 6 1/2 lengths here.

Up 8lbs for that win, but still only gets in here with 10st 9lbs and Ryan Mania rides again.

I’ll take Breeze to ‘Conquer’ again.

8:00 Huntingdon – ICE JET

Was one of the nice winning NAPs for us last week and looks worth sticking with – going in by an  easy 21 lengths.

Yes, there is a small danger that this race will come too soon (7 days) and also carries a 7lb penalty.

But this grey travelled and jumped really well that day to suggest this Skelton runner is still well ahead of the handicapper.

Ice Jet should really be flying home again today.
