Andy Newton Horse Racing: Today’s ‘NAP Of The Day’ Tip
4:45 Hereford ICE JET (NAP)
This Dan Skelton runner stands out today after a close second the last day at Wetherby.
Yes, is still to win a race from 11 starts but has only had 4 of those with his current yard and last time was his opener for them in a handicap.
It also came off a wind op, so that clearly improved him and the form has been franked since – with the 4th Big Love and even 8th Roland Garros winning since.
Oh, did I mention the Skelton yard have also won the last two runnings of this race?
Ice Jet can be too cool here and fly home.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips
2:30 Beverley LOVERS LEAP
Not the most competitive race to kick things off with at Beverley, but on all known form this should be going to Lovers Leap.
This Lope De Vega filly was a good third here last time over the extended mile and having got a bit tired in the closing stages the drop back in trip today by a furlong will suit.
SDS also takes over in the plate.
Unless one of the others improves dramatically, I think it will be a shock if Lovers can’t leap to victory here.
3:38 Hereford LADY KARA
The Newland/Insole yard have a top 42% SR with their runners over hurdles here at Hereford and they look to have a top chance of improving that stat here.
This 5yold has been a tad frustrating with a string of placed efforts – including a third a Fakenham last time out.
But in a race that lacks depth, the form of those placed efforts still stands out here and also gets a handy 7lbs from her nearest rival in the betting Kittys Glance.
5:15 Lingfield ARC ZOOSVE (NB)
Has been in rude form in the last few months – winning his last three at Southwell, Lingfield and Goodwood.
Is up another 2lbs from the last of those wins, but I feel looks the sort worth sticking with.
The form of his win at Lingfield back in April has also been given a shot in the arm, with the runner-up Shrimp Shady winning a decent handicap at Chester next time out.
Arc is taken to carry on the good run of form in this apprentice race with the promising Jack Callan in the plate.
