Today’s Each Way Horse Racing Tips: Wednesday 6th May, 2026
1:45 Newton Abbot: LIGHT N STRIKE
The Micky Bowen yard have a cracking 43% SR with their chasers here at Newton Abbot and look to have a great chance of adding to that today.
This 10yold is having his 33rd career run and heads here with a top return over fences – with 21 runs and 15 top three finishes (5 wins).
He acts well on this summer jumping better ground and also won this race 12 months ago when trained my Emma Lavelle – is back off the same mark too (135).
I’ll take Lightening to ‘strike’ again in this race.
2:05 Chester: PERCY’S LAD
Another horse in action that has history in the same race they are running in is this Kubler entry.
He landed this pot two years ago off a mark of 95 and is back to try and regain his crown off 5lbs lower (90).
Blew away the cobwebs with a run at Newmarket last month and does seem to like it here on the Roodee – with form that reads 1-3-5-2-1-4.
Draw 6 looks fine and Tom Marquand is an obvious plus in the saddle.
3:40 Chester: TRICKY TEL
A very open contest here, with many chances.
One that I think could go well at a nice price though is this Hugo Palmer & Michael Owen runner.
Yes, he’s not been out for 223 days, but is back from being gelded and more importantly he’s another that has shown a liking for Chester.
He won his first two starts on the Roodee last May – one at this meeting 12 months ago.
This 3yold lost his way a bit after that, but has had the ‘snip’ since and also been freshened up.
He returns on a 2lb lower mark too and gets in here with only 8-13 in weight.
7:30 Kempton: ELSHIE
Just the one past run for this Jane Chapple-Hyam runner, but that was a fair 6th on debut at Nottingham.
Would have learned a lot from that effort and should improve for the step up to 7f.
SDS rides again too and it’s also interesting the hood is one this time as well.
While, it’s probably nothing, but the last two winners of this race hailed from gate 7 – could it be ‘seventh heaven’ again tonight?
