2:10 Perth: KING JON OLIVER
This looks an open affair to me today and so I’m happy to take a chance on the Olly Murphy/Sean Bowen runner – King Jon Oliver.
He’s only had 6 career runs (1 win), but seemed to find the step up to 3m too far the last day at Uttoxeter.
His sole win came over 2m4f, so today’s ease in distance will suit and will be fine on the better ground if past form is anything to go on.
The Murphy yard have also won 2 of the last 3 runnings of this race and boast a 33% SR over hurdles at this venue.
I’m happy to side with Jon Oliver to be ‘King’.
3:00 Warwick: REALTA LIATH
A horse I liked at the start of the season – when winning at Fontwell and running close at Cheltenham in December.
Is still 7lbs higher than his last win, but eased a pound from last time and has also had a wind op since that last oouting.
Up in grade here, but that means a lower racing weight and I feel he’ll love the better ground today.
The final plus is the solid 36% SR that the Greatrex yard have with their chasers here at Warwick.
3:52 Beverley: NAVAL TRIBUTE
Needs to bounce back from a poor 7th at Lingfield the last day, but is better than that – having won the time before at Kempton.
Connections are reaching for the first-time visor today, which I think can help and has been given a month to get over that last run.
The switch to the grass is fine too, having run well in NH Flat races in the past.
While the James Owen team also won this race 12 months ago and boast a cracking 50% (5-10 SR) with their older horses at Beverley.
I’ll take Naval Tribute to return to form and sail home here.

This Fahey runner heads here in a four-timer, but I feel the handicapper is sure to catch up with him soon.
That day could be today, despite only up 2lbs for his last win, which came at Thirsk 13 days ago.
With the niggle being the switch to Southwell.
Yes, he’s 2-5 on the sand surfaces, but is 0-2 here at Southwell, being unplaced both times. (7th and 8th)
Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).
