Today’s Each-Way Horse Racing Betting Tips

3:21 Lingfield: SCARTLET SUNSET

The Ismail Mohammed team are in fine fettle at the moment – coming into today with 3 wins from their last 4 sent to post. Therefore, I think their sole runner on the day has to be noted. She comes here off a fair third at Wolves last time back in October and is in here off the same mark. But is now running against her own sex too, which will make things slightly easier in my book, plus has gone well fresh in the past so the 184-day break isn’t too much of a concern.

3:42 Redcar: CADARN

I often like looking out for horses that won the same races in the past – as we at least know conditions will suit. This Kevin Ryan runner is another that fits this mold – winning this pot 12 months ago rated 81. Yes, is 6lbs higher today but has won off 84 in the past so today’s rating of 87 looks within range as he’s still only 5 and had just 9 career starts. A recent run at Donny at the end of last month should have also blown away the cobwebs.

4:30 Kelso: LESTER MAIL

This Neil Alexander runner won on this card last season – when landing a NH Flat race. Has only had 3 runs over hurdles since without success, but is into a handicap for the first time today and that will make things a lot easier.  Freshened up with 2 months off too and we know the track suits, so I think Lester Mail can be ‘delivered’ to go close today.

4:50 Redcar: JAM LASS

Today’s final each-way horse racing tips comes in the 1m2f handicap at Redcar – and a horse that could even go off as the outsider of the lot.  But I’m interested in this 5yold mainly as the Peter Niven yard has a decent SR at Redcar with their 4+yolds (35%).

This mare is also a proven course winner at this venue, when landing a Class 6 Handicap last October over today’s trip too.  So at a nice price Jam Lass could make things a bit ‘sticky’ for her rivals today.

Worth Knowing Today

  • 5:00 Kelso – 4 of the last 5 favourites have won this race
  • Trainer Archie Watson has a 50% SR with this 2yolds at Redcar
  • 4:42 Tramore: ALL of the last 7 winners aged between 5-7 years-old
  • Trainer Gavin Cromwell is just 3-60 (5%) with his hurdlers at the track

Today’s Longest Travellers

  • 7:30 Newcastle: NANA’S BOY GEORGE (343 miles), Alexandra Dunn

6:00 Newcastle: MAO SHANG WONG

Course winner here at Gosforth Park but was down the field the last day at Lingfield and so I think he’s got a bit to prove today.

He’s also up 5lbs from his last win, which came at Donny back in March – plus also had a claimer on that day taking off 5lbs. Yes, the return to Newcastle will suit but with both career wins also coming over 1m2f, then I still think the jury is out over this longer 1m4 ½f trip today.

Note: Some picks can drift during the day (obviously we have no control of that) – but I’d say if they hit 8.0+ they are prob best left (for obvious reasons).
