Grand National Betting Odds 2027: I Am Maximus Favourite To Win Again (but only just)

The 2026 Grand National result saw I Am Maximus become the first horse since Red Rum in 1977 to win BACK his Aintree title.

And he’s well-fancied to go in again, according to the 2027 Grand National betting odds.

With the bookies making him the 12/1 FAVOURITE to win the race again in 2027.

Having won the race in 2024 and also been runner-up in 2025 – all this means with his famous 2026 win – I Am Maximus will be looking for a remarkable third success in the biggest jumps race on the planet.

In winning in 2026, I Am Maximus also gave trainer Willie Mullins a fourth National win and his third in-a-row.

He became the first trainer since Vincent O’Brien in the 1950’s to achieve this particular Aintree treble.

I Am Maximus was also giving JP McManus a fourth win, to make him the winning-most owner in the history of the National.

While JP also had the second (Iroko) and fourth (Johnnywho) in the 2026 race.

If back in 2027, I Am Maximus will be aged 11 – but between 2012 and 2014 we saw three 11yolds land the race, so it’s certainly possible.

At 12/1 we can expect his Grand National modern-day legend to have plenty of backers.

The 2026 Grand National third Jordans is 20/1 for go two places better in 2027.

While the runner-up Iroko is 16/1 and fourth Johnnywho 25/1.
