3:00 Cork: THE GREAT UNKNOWN (NAP)
I probably wouldn’t normally delve into an Irish Hunters – so like the name of this pick – it’s a bit of ‘The Great Unknown’.
But what we do know is that trainer Sam Curling is a master in this sphere and that this 7old heads here in rude form – winning her last six.
Plus the most recent win saw her beat another runner today (Lucy Wang) with ease – which is a further positive.
Today’s Other ‘Muggy Favs’ Lucky 15 Horse Racing Tips🏇
1:55 Wolverhampton: THE UBERMENSCH (NB)
Recent winner Coloane will be a danger here, but the pick gets a handy 3lbs off that runner and looks the slightly more progressive.
Took a step forward the last day when a running-on third here over 7f.
Gets into a handicap for the first time today on a mark of 60 and connections have also booked 5lb claimer Joe Bradnam.
The longer trip (1m 1/2f) here will help and the Michael Bell yard are also in good form (see trainer list below) and have a 30% SR with their 4+olds at this venue.
I’ll take a trip on The Ubermensch here.
2:10 Hereford: INDEPENDENT LADY
The Henderson yard boast a 33% SR with their runners up at Hereford and jockey Nico de Boinville has a 44% return.
They have several runners at the track today, but this looks to be one of their best chances.
She stayed on well over CD the last day and is only up 5lbs – on what was also her handicap debut that day.
There looked to be a bit more left in the tank at the line and with only five career runs, seems to be getting the hang of things.
Independent Lady can fly the ‘girl power’ flag in this mares’ handicap hurdle.
3:10 Plumpton: LORIKO
Poor the last day at Hereford, but before that was a decent second at Ascot to Kripticjim.
Has had 3 months off to get over that last run and with that poor showing also on soft ground – today’s better surface looks a plus.
Yes, the Moore yard have a fair record in this race (3-6) and run Tetsworth & Olblemenko and this horse gets 8lbs off the pick.
But ignoring that last run, Loriko has the best form on show here and is the call to gain a first career win.
Today’s Each-Way Horse Racing Betting Tips🏇
3:20 Hereford: LELANTOS
Another Henderson/de Boinville runner at Hereford today is this 10 year-old, who heads here with 5 wins from 32.
Down the field the last day at Musselburgh on softer ground but is down 2lbs here and in this higher grade has 12lbs less racing weight to carry this time.
He’s now only 2lbs higher than when winning at Huntingdon three runs back and has been freshened up with 50 days off.
4:55 Plumpton: UNJEU ROYAL
Down the field the last day at Lingfield, but is into a handicap for the first time here and that should help him fair better.
This will only be his sixth career run and a mark of 108 looks fair.
Connections have given him 77 days off to prepare for this and the Tom Lacey yard boast a decent 31% SR with their hurdlers at Plumpton.
5:00 Fairyhouse: MONBEG GENIUS/BETTER TIMES AHEAD
We had to have a little go in the big one today – The Irish Grand National – in what is a typically open race again.
But a chance is taken on two – Monbeg Genius for the O’Neill yard, that have won this twice in the past.
And the home-trained Better Times Ahead, who has winning form here at Fairyhouse in the past.
19 of the last 22 winners carried 10-13 of less, so they are both fine on this score.
Better Times Ahead was also a close second in the Thyestes at Gowran Park in January and has been kept ticking over with a run over hurdles at Naas since.
Monbeg Genius has been threatening for about three years to land a National – he was 4th in the 2024 Welsh version.
Is also a pound lower than when last winning (Feb 24) and heads off off a inf third in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham last time out.

What Does NAP Mean In Horse Racing?
The term NAP bet or NAP of the Day in horse racing is often used by tipsters – but what does it actually stand for?
In short, it is the BEST bet of the day and the one that is thought to have the best chance of winning by that tipster.
The term ‘NAP’ is short for the word Napoleon, which comes from a French card game of the same name.
You’ve probably heard of the phrase ‘having a NAP hand’ and this is where the term comes from. Having a good, or the best hand in this card game.

What Does NB Mean In Horse Racing?
It’s similar to a NAP – but in horse racing, NB stands for ‘Next Best’.
In simple terms, it’s the tipster’s second-strongest selection of the day. Not quite their headline pick, but the one just behind it in confidence.
How Does A Lucky 15 Horse Racing Bet Work?
A Lucky 15 is one of the most popular bets in horse racing – and for good reason.
It involves FOUR selections combined into a multiple bet.
The name ‘Lucky 15’ comes from the fact that your four picks create 15 separate bets, broken down like this:
- 6 Doubles
- 4 Trebles
- 4 Singles
- 1 Four-Fold
That’s where the 15 comes from.
A Lucky 15 is also similar to a Super Yankee, although that bet is bigger. A Super Yankee consists of 26 bets in total – 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.

How Much Does A Lucky 15 Bet Cost?
Because there are 15 separate bets involved, your total stake is multiplied by 15.
So, for example, a £1 Lucky 15 will cost £15 in total.
If you place it each-way (covering both win and place), the cost doubles. A £1 each-way Lucky 15 would therefore come to £30.
How To Place A Horse Racing Bet?
To place a bet, head to any of the horse racing betting sites, where you’ll see all the day’s fixtures and racecards.
Go to the ‘horse racing’ section and find the meeting and race time your horse is running in. Each runner will be listed with their current odds displayed alongside.
Once you’ve opened an account and deposited funds, you’re ready to go.
Click on the horse you want to back and it will be added to your bet slip. From there, enter your chosen stake and confirm the bet.
That’s it – you’re in.
