2026 Irish Grand National Result: Solider In Milan Tanks Home
30 runners went to post at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday but it was Soldier In Milan who was best of them all, winning by 16 lengths.
It’s a day to remember for Donagh Meyler, Emmet Mullins and Paul Byrne who combined twice on the card. Jet To Monte Carlo won the opening race and Soldier In Milan landed the big one.
The Irish Grand National prize money is more than any other race on the jumps calendar and Soldier In Milan will take home just short of €270,000 for his success.
It was a dramatic race as it often is but Soldier In Milan was too good for his rivals and etches his name in the history books at Fairyhouse with
Kiss Will and Soldier In Milan were battling for favouritism throughout the day with the latter eventually leading the market at post time. The money was down for Soldier In Milan and he absolutely destroyed the field.
Elsewhere on the card, classy 12-year-old Energumene rolled back the years as he took home the Grade 2 Fairyhouse Chase.
Proactif also got his head back in front after underperforming in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and Slade Steel was a surprise winner reverting back to hurdles after no success as a chaser.
With Soldier In Milan completing a famous double for Emmet Mullins, it was an Irish Grand National result to remember.
