The Aiden O’Brien 2000 Guineas duo that were accidently scratched from the Newmarket race will be supplemented, the trainer has confirmed.
Aiden O’Brien 2000 Guineas Duo Were Falsely Scratched
It’s been confirmed that Gstaad and Albert Einstein will be likely supplemented for the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket after they were incorrectly scratched from the race on Tuesday morning.
Ante-post markets for the first British Classic of the year were sent into chaos on Tuesday when it was reported that Gstaad and Albert Einstein were removed from the race.
Albert Einstein had his first race for 307 days last weekend when finishing 6th in the Gladness Stakes at the Curragh.
The son of Wootton Bassett looked one-paced on his seasonal reappearance leading fans to belief that the scratching was genuine.
Ballydoyle came out and confirmed that there was a “computing error” and the horses were wrongly removed.

Aiden O’Brien Confirms Potential Supplementary For 2000 Guineas Pair
O’Brien and his team said they would be trying to get their horses reinstated to the race, but it seems a supplementary process is the likely next move.
It could cost £30,000 for each for Gstaad and Albert Einstein to get back into the race.
O’Brien said the following to the Racing Post:
“I don’t think the BHA will allow them back in, so we’ll supplement them come the time if that’s what the lads decide to do.
“What has happened won’t affect what we’ll be doing. They will stay on their programmes. At the moment, it looks like we’re going to train Albert for the Guineass, and that has also been the plan for Gstaad. I’d imagine the lads will supplement them if we decide that’s the thing to do.
“There was a blip on the computer. Something happened, the computer went bananas and took out a couple of horses that weren’t meant to be taken out. We are hoping to get them back in and could do with a bit of common sense being applied.
